Body Mind Landscape: Solstice practice writing/moving

Open to all of you curious about ways to access your body wisdom and reflect of the upcoming winter.

As being the shortest day, the solstice is an expression of a profound transition from what is “yin within the yin” to cultivating the seeds of our yang energy. During this time together, the exploration offered through guided movement are an invitation to contemplate the language of the body and the mind. We will engage first with a somatic practice inspired by Body-mInd Centering approach with the organ system to nourish our kidneys*. Kidneys are our ancestral in depth energetic reservoir and a winter key refuge for restoration and healing. Slowing down and allowing deep resting into earth to fuel our imagination and poetic body. We will then find our own ways through cultivating deep listening and to generate writing, dances, gestures through embodied activities. The sequences of movement / drawing & writing will support the layers of harvesting personal experiences to then be shared with the group for those who want.

*In Chinese medicine, winter is related to the kidneys and the bladder. Solstice announces the longest night and the return of a gradually lengthening of the light day after day.As being the shortest day, this solstice is an expression of a profound transition to what is “yin within the yin” to cultivating the seeds of our yang energy.
