SUNDAYS Contemplative Movement /Drawing/writing as an act of embodying our fluid identities.
——————- Each workshop carries on an open topic related to a visual/artwork and a thematic. I invite participants to be curious and allow spaciousness and time to noticing their body mind landscape as an unknown territory. The guided explorations through movement and somatisation are an invitation to contemplate how our sensations arises through embodied activities . The sequences of movement/drawing & writing support the layers of harvesting personals experiences to then be shared with the group.

Rooted in Body-Mind Centering® we’ll explore the body’s inner landscapes, where muscles, fluids, organs, and the nervous system become sources of movement, perception, and imagination. Dance, movement, vocalization, imgaination emerges from within, guided by sensation before shaping form. We’ll begin with a gentle warm-up using breath, movement, and voice to release tension and awaken energy, then move into improvisational explorations—playing, sensing, and responding to internal cues and group energy.
This 4-session series revisits and deepens the themes of our SOMA SOMA workshop series: All About Love with bell hooks, Strength & Vision with Audre Lorde, and Conscious Transformation with Frida Kahlo.
Throughout the series, we will use guided movement and meditation, somatic drawing, and journaling to redirect our energy towards what truly matters. Participants are welcome to join any number of the four workshops offered. The benefit of consistency is deepening your own creative practice + having more opportunities to form connections with others.
Participants who register for all four workshops in advance will receive their own notebook, personal journaling exercises, and a follow-up guided meditation for each workshop.

Unlearning racism and whiteness, dismantling forms of oppression and building communal healing are a long haul process and I believe we need to weave and connect within our communities with the field of politized somatics & mindfulness to sustain and grow our practice of social transformation and change with courage and love.
